The Bohle Silberschnitt® Speed Cutter is a professional manual glass strip cutter designed for fast, accurate, repeatable straight cuts on larger glass sheets. Ontario Glazing Supplies offers the Speed Cutter in 24", 48", and 72" versions for glaziers, glass shops, manufacturers, and production environments.

Built with an integrated cutting-fluid supply, adjustable guide rollers, and an interchangeable cutting head system, the Speed Cutter is a practical tool for shops that need clean repeat cuts without relying on larger cutting equipment for every job.

Choose the right Speed Cutter size

Select the length based on the width of the glass strips or sheets you commonly cut.

24" Approx. 600–610 mm class

Best for smaller sheets, tighter workspaces, and compact repeat-cutting setups. Bohle Speed Cutter family reference: BO4580.0.

48" Approx. 1200–1220 mm class

A strong general-purpose choice for common shop use and mid-size glass sheets. Bohle Speed Cutter family reference: BO4580.1.

72" Approx. 1800–1830 mm class

Best for larger sheets and wider repeat cuts where extra cutting width is needed. Bohle Speed Cutter family reference: BO4580.2.

Cutting Head Selection

138° standard head vs. 155° heavy-glass head

The Silberschnitt® Speed Cutter is supplied with a 138° standard cutting head, which is generally used for thinner and common glass cutting applications.

For heavier glass, OGS also offers a 155° replacement cutting head as an optional add-on / separately purchased replacement head. Bohle reference: BO4580.155.

138° cutting head

Included with a new Speed Cutter. Best suited for thinner and common glass applications.

155° cutting head

Sold separately. Used for heavier glass applications where a wider included cutting angle is preferred.

Tip: Cutting angle is only one part of clean glass cutting. Glass type, cutting pressure, cutting speed, cutting fluid, wheel condition, and operator technique can all affect the final score and break.

Replacement Assembly

What is the cutting head assembly?

The cutting head assembly is the main working assembly at the scoring end of the Silberschnitt® Speed Cutter. It includes the cutting head and integrated oil-supply area used during scoring.

A new Bohle Silberschnitt® Speed Cutter includes this assembly, but it can also be purchased separately as a replacement item if the original assembly becomes worn, damaged, or accidentally dropped. Bohle reference: BO4580.5.

What cutting head comes with the Silberschnitt® Speed Cutter?
The Speed Cutter comes with the standard 138° cutting head. This is the included head supplied with a new Speed Cutter.
When should I choose the 155° cutting head?
The 155° cutting head is an optional heavy-glass replacement / add-on head. It is generally used when cutting thicker glass where a wider included cutting angle is preferred. Bohle reference: BO4580.155.
Is the cutting head assembly included with the Speed Cutter?
Yes. A new Silberschnitt® Speed Cutter includes the cutting head assembly. The assembly can also be purchased separately as replacement part BO4580.5 if it becomes worn or damaged.
Which Speed Cutter size should I choose?
Choose based on the width of the glass strips or sheets you commonly cut. The 24" version is easier to handle in smaller workspaces, the 48" version is a strong general-purpose size, and the 72" version is best for larger sheets and wider repeat cuts.
