Precision L-Square with Integrated Angle Brace
The Bohle L-Square with Brace is a professional cutting guide designed to establish a consistent right-angle reference from a straight glass edge. Manufactured from a single piece of rigid hard-paper laminate, the square incorporates a diagonal brace for added dimensional stability during marking and scoring. Ontario Glazing Supplies offers the three most practical shop sizes: nominal 24", 41" and 59" cutting lengths.

The selected inch size is the nominal cutting length. Bohle publishes the exact dimensions in metric units; see the size chart below.
Designed for Accurate, Repeatable Square Cuts
The short head of the L-square registers against a straight glass edge while the long leg provides a guide for marking or scoring perpendicular to that edge. Bohle recommends the braced design where particularly precise cuts are required.
- Integrated diagonal brace: Improves rigidity and helps the square resist twisting while it is positioned on the cutting table.
- One-piece construction: The body and brace are produced from one piece of high-quality material, avoiding a separate adjustable joint between the legs.
- High-precision production: Manufactured using CNC equipment for low tolerances and careful edge processing.
- Professional dimensional accuracy: Bohle states that its L-squares fall below the angular tolerances required by DIN ISO 2768, tolerance class "fine".
- Purpose-built cutting aid: Ideally suited to use with a Silberschnitt® glass cutter and appropriate glass cutting fluid.
Rigid, Stable and Torsion-Resistant
Bohle specifies the material as hard paper, a rigid non-metallic laminate commonly described in the North American glazing trade as phenolic material. The black body is designed to provide long service life without the weight of a comparable solid-metal shop square.
The integrated brace supports the relationship between the head and the cutting edge, helping the tool remain stable when setting up perpendicular scores on flat glass.
Important: This Square Is Not Graduated
Bohle identifies this model as a cutting aid and does not provide a printed measuring scale. Measure and mark the required glass dimension separately, then position the L-square as the perpendicular cutting guide.
The 24", 41" and 59" option names refer to nominal cutting capacity—not the tool's complete outside dimensions.

Recommended Method of Use
- Prepare the work area: Support the glass fully on a clean cutting table and remove chips, grit or debris that could affect the square or scratch the glass.
- Measure and mark: Establish the required cut location with a separate measuring tool, since the L-square is not graduated.
- Register the square: Place the head firmly against a clean, straight glass edge and align the long guide edge with the cut mark.
- Score the glass: Hold the square securely and make one continuous score with a suitable glass cutter and the appropriate cutting fluid.
- Remove and store: Lift the square away before running or breaking the score, then clean and store the tool as recommended below.
Care, Storage & Use Guidance
Bohle advises that L-squares are sensitive to excessive moisture, including sustained humidity, as well as heat and improper storage. After use, hang the square securely on a wall in a clean, dry location so the body is supported without being bent or placed under load.
Inspect the guide edges and squareness before precision work. Do not use a damaged, distorted or heavily worn square. Follow appropriate glass-cutting procedures and wear suitable eye, hand and foot protection for the work being performed.
Complete the cutting setup: Pair the L-square with a suitable hand glass cutter and Bohle glass cutting oil for the glass type, thickness and cutting method.
